Nilgiri Eco Amity Trust Celebrates 76th Republic Day at Sevalaya Nilgiri Gandhi Hospital
The 76th Republic Day celebration was held at Sevalaya Nilgiri Mahatma Gandhi Hospital, Gudalur, where the event was marked with flag hoisting and the distribution of sweets.
Mr. K. P. Krishnasamy, Trustee and Administrator of the Nilgiri Eco Amity Trust, graced the occasion as the chief guest and proudly hoisted the National Flag. The event was attended by Ms. Priyadarshini, Head of Sevalaya Nilgiri Centre, along with hospital staff, teachers, and students.
Dr. Thilak Lal welcomed all the dignitaries and participants. The ceremony began with the national salute and patriotic songs paying respect to the Indian flag.
As part of the celebration, saplings were distributed to attendees, promoting environmental awareness and sustainable living. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Sumathi Selvakumar, Sevalaya’s tailoring instructor.

The Nilgiri Eco Amity Trust has launched a Daily Free Meal Program in Masinagudi to support hill residents affected by wildlife disturbances. The initiative provides nutritious food every day to families living in remote areas who face livelihood challenges due to frequent wild animal encounters.
This welfare program was recently featured on Kalaigar Seithi news channel, recognizing the trust’s ongoing commitment to community service and environmental harmony in the Nilgiris.
Through this initiative, the trust aims to strengthen food security, improve living conditions, and promote compassion-driven community support among the region’s hill populations. Local residents expressed their gratitude for the trust’s sustained humanitarian efforts.

Nilgiri Eco Amity Trust Holds Awareness and Welfare Meeting in Gudalur
The Nilgiri Eco Amity Trust organized a community meeting at the TTDC Working Women’s Hostel in Gudalur on October 13, 2025.
The session focused on expanding the trust’s daily free meal program for hill residents affected by wildlife, increasing climate change awareness, and strengthening environmental protection initiatives. Discussions also covered sustainable development programs aimed at improving the living standards of mountain communities.
The meeting was presided over by Chairman Mr. K. P. Krishnasamy. Social activist Mr. Surya from Chennai facilitated the discussions, and Mr. Siva delivered the vote of thanks at the conclusion of the event.
As part of the initiative, the trust also conducted skill development training to promote employment opportunities for women in the Nilgiris region. The event saw active participation from both local residents and members of the hill communities, demonstrating a strong commitment to social and environmental welfare.

Nilgiri Eco Amity Trust Distributes Clothing and Supports Young Sports Talent
The Nilgiri Eco Amity Trust recently organized a community welfare program aimed at supporting underprivileged hill residents in the Nilgiris region. As part of the initiative, the trust distributed clothing to 50 families, ensuring comfort and dignity for those in need.
